Food Bank Report

Last month at the Food Bank, we did something   different than pack our normal Sack Packs for school children.  Our usual area was cleared to sort fresh food, so we moved to  a different area in the warehouse where boxes of food are filled for clients.  We worked on an assembly line to pull products and fill boxes with 32 lbs of food.  The products vary, depending on vendor donations, but on Tuesday we packed peanut butter, 1 bag of rice, 1 box each of cereal and crackers, cans of fruit, salmon, soup, beans, corn, green beans, juice, cake mixes, granola and cookies and a handful of snack items.  The boxes are weighed and then pushed through a taping machine which seals the top and bottom.  Thanks to Hank, Gerai, Andy, Linda and Rosie who volunteered.  Regular Food Bank volunteers who pack these boxes every day were grateful for our help.
